Biography: Occupation: Farmer, also according to family tradition he was a marble cutter and stone mason (as was his son, Jacob) and worked on the Marblehead Lighhouse at Sandusky, OH, the second oldest lighthouse on the Great Lakes. Marblehead Lighthouse, then called Sandusky Lighthouse, was originally build in 1822 and may have been refurbished in the 1830s. There was a Smith who helped to build it originally.
