Stallo accompanied by six men; of which we know only the names of Johann Bernard Feldmann, Johann Herman Surmann, Heinrich Joseph Cordesmann, and Johann Friedrich Rohenkohl; proceeded to the U.S. Government Land Office at Picua, Ohio. Here Stallo purchased 1200 acres of Congress land in Mercer County and Shelby County for $1.25 per acre. The dates of the purchases were September 28, October 3, and October 15, 1832."6 Johan Frederick Rohenkohl and Anna Maria Gertrude Rieman appeared on the census of 1840 in German Township, Mercer, Ohio, USA. Witnesses - Christopher Siefker, Herman Heinrich Sanders and Gerhard Recker.2 As of 19 October 1811, her married name was Maria Elizabeth Siefker (Sanders). Maria Elizabeth Sanders and Joseph Rudolf Siefker had 8 children. Maria Elizabeth Sanders and Joseph Rudolf Siefker emigrated on 27 July 1842 from Pye, Osnabrück, Niedersachsen, Germany. The German emigration list indicates that the emigrants are Rudolph, age 62, with his wife, Maria, and three daughters. His occupation is bergmann, literally "mountain man" or ranger.
