Cause of death is listed as catarrah of the stomach on the death index. His granddaughter, Freda Meyer Schmenk, in 2004 said that he died of gangrene infection following an injury from a saw blade at his saw mill.10 He was buried on 5 December 1905 in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Ottawa, Ohio, USA, age at death 63 years, 6 months, 25 days. Have a Mass card for him.11 His hand written will was entered into probate in Ottawa Township, Ohio, USA on 7 December 1905. The will leaves his farm and possessions to his beloved wife, Bernadina. Upon her death, the farm passes to his youngest son, Jerome, who is required to pay $500 to each of his siblings within one year. The will stipulates that these monies are in addition to real estate and doweries already provided.12
Biography: Theodore Meyer and Anna Mersman Meyer came to Glandorf, Ohio in 1834. They cleared the land on Cranberry Creek southwest of Ottawa, Ohio. According to family tradition, Theodore Meyer worked on the Lake Erie/Ohio River canal. A farmer, an iceman and an implements dealer. Owned a sawmill. At one time owned three hundred and seventy five acres in Putnam County located along the Blanchard River southwest of Ottawa, Ohio. Owned a threshing machine and conducted threshing operations in that area.13
