She was well educated, spoke three languages, read a lot. Her family were well-to-do business people in Veszprem. On Monday, 5 May 1851 in Veszprém, Veszprém, Hungary, Nina Erdössy married Károly Berecz, age 27, son of Maté Berecz and Agatha Jaksich. Married by his brother, Jozsef Berecz. Witnesses: Alajos Szammer and Gyorgy Blauhorn. Her married name was Nina Berecz (Erdössy). Nina Erdössy and Károly Berecz had 13 children. Most of the children were born in Pécs, Baranya, Hungary. Five of the children died during childhood.
